The party hid out at the orphanage long enough for Aron to convince Donna that he had learned his lesson, and for the rest of the group to re-stock and re-armour.
Then, wanting to salvage the gear and treasure of Eel’s End they planned to strike out for the wreckage but were interrupted by Reshi as he burst in the door. He explained that some ambassador had gotten salvage writs for the wreckage and got a bunch of mages to lift everything out of the water. Quickly the group formed a plan to talk to Kroft and turn the tables on this ambassador.
Kroft was convinced to provide documentation that allowed the group to get their gear from among the evidence lockers. Their next stop would be Amprei’s manor to find where he had taken the salvage. Taking to the markets, they asked among the locals, and found a Varisian fortune-telling witch sitting in the markets. Wanda knew where Amprei lived, and would help the group get there.
She was drawn to the fires of civilizations. To the flickering torches of life gathered into a bonfire of dreams. From these travelers before her, she could sense each had their own brilliant flame. That they were destined for greatness.
Not wanting to wait till the next day, they left for Amprei’s in the dead of night, first shouting down a bar crowd that was making fun of their Blood Sport performance, and then reversing a deadly ambush by a group of Duster heavies led by Rock, their leader.
The battle ended with Rock’s best friend dead, his hand neatly cleaved off, and his dignity and clothes stripped off his body. He cursed the party and vowed revenge as he ran off into the night.
Amprei’s manor sat snugly against the walls of Northpoint. The small 2-storey stone manor had a wide, and well manicured lawn stretching out before it. The party quickly trampled that lawn as they pushed past a surprised butler while shouting for Amprei to wake up. Having a love letter thrust in his face, and almost read aloud, made Amprei more receptive to our heroes questions.
They quickly found that the salvage was stored in a small warehouse hear Longacre hall, and took their time both reclaiming their gear and rummaging through the ship’s burned and broken timbers for the Spider’s treasures. They eventually found his sea chest and the treasure it contained, and left for home.
